Job Opening:
UNIX System Administrator – full time position, available immediately in NYC

Job Requirements and Description:
The successful candidate must have 5+ years experience as a production system administrator in UNIX / LINUX environment, with a proven track record in LAMP deployment and administration, shell and Perl scripting, system maintenance and upgrades, kernel tuning and performance optimization.

• Compile, configure, deploy, and maintain LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/Php), Tomcat, JBoss, and other software bundles in production Linux environment
• Script light automation tools for application deployment, monitoring, and reporting
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve operating issues with network services and applications
• Capacity planning and prevention / resolution of service degradation and outages

Qualifications:

• LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/Php): 5+ years of administration experience/
• Strong Perl and shell scripting skills
• Experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Linux services and applications in fast-paced production environment
• Familiarity with J2EE Application Servers / Oracle is a plus
• Fluency in Russian is a plus
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, ability to plan and organize, responsiveness, creativity

Education & Work Experience:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum 5 years of related work experience
